2811 Hosts Climate Educators Forum for U.S. Teachers

September 2020/The newly established 2811 USA team hosted 25 educators of various subjects from around the U.S. in our first Climate Educators Forum on September 12, 2020 to discuss the ways educators are teaching about climate change. The objective of this forum was to inspire and be inspired by the practices teachers are implementing in their classrooms.

Media has been calling the Covid-19 pandemic “the worst crisis in 100 years”. The same can be said about the global climate crisis. Indeed, the two crises have similarities. Handled in a good way, both can help to improve humankind’s resilience.

How Climate Action Academy uses Teachable for climate change education

This Earth Day we spoke with a Teachable school working to help address climate change through education. The Climate Action Academy, part of the organization 2811, is on a mission to support youth, their educators, and institutions within the education sphere to help address climate change.

2811 and UGWA partner for Food Resilience and Climate Innovation in New Mexico

This summer, 2811 is partnering with the Upper Gila Watershed Alliance (UGWA) to cultivate food system resilience in New Mexico. Together with 5 local schools in the Silver City and Cobre school districts, we will develop innovative food resilience projects that involve composting, healthy soils, and, of course, climate education.

The Climate Action Academy: Food systems and dietary habits (CAA-FOOD) is an international online training program in Germany and Slovenia that focuses on food systems and dietary habits as a relatable entry point to visualize linkages between climate change and the daily life of young people.
