This Earth Day we spoke with a Teachable school working to help address climate change through education. The Climate Action Academy, part of the organization 2811, is on a mission to support youth, their educators, and institutions within the education sphere to help address climate change.
This summer, 2811 is partnering with the Upper Gila Watershed Alliance (UGWA) to cultivate food system resilience in New Mexico. Together with 5 local schools in the Silver City and Cobre school districts, we will develop innovative food resilience projects that involve composting, healthy soils, and, of course, climate education.
Among the many climate extremes, heatwaves, floods, and droughts, that affected the world during summer of 2022, it still seems hard to grasp that the “global climate crisis”, which seemed so distant and abstract just a few decades ago, has now reached Europe full force.
